For some reason our species is obsessed with reality. The longest running question we have is about existence and reality. From the story of creation to today’s reality TV, true crime, digital effects, animatronics, virtual reality and all the way up to every person saying “I’m just being real”. does art imitate life or does life imitate art? Existence came first so art imitates life. All art is a form of media. Media has gone from actors on a stage to the person on the street filming with their phone. Has art and life merge to create some hyper-real illusion of actual existence? is the internet playing out the history of humanity in a 2x pace play back. From the first words published online to the tribalism and anti-science of current internet culture. Are the ones who spend most of their days plugged into social media reliving the dark ages while the ones who choose a life offline and a controlled interaction with modern technology living in current times? is there a point in time where so many humans will be plugged in that the real world merges with the internet and we all get pulled back in some pseudo-time travel experiment.
