Who decided that?

     What an arbitrary number. As our life spans grow, will retirement age be raised? Who benefits from raising the regiment age? The one who is retiring doesn’t benefit, they just have to work more and enjoy less of their lives. Isn’t the purpose of retirement to reach a level of financial self-sufficiency so you can do what you want? If one can do that by age 22, shouldn’t one’s goal to be retired at age 22 followed by a long life of pleasant moments spent with loved ones enjoying their lives and free time.
