Descartes says that man must know God to know his senses because the sense interprets the exterior world. If one is God, then one must know themselves. In order to gain knowledge one must discover and know themselves before they can even experience the exterior world based on their senses. Prior to knowing oneself, how does one interpret the exterior world? Is one blocked from experiencing it? Does one experience it through a filter? Does one project themselves into the exterior world as daily lessons to be learned? If each projection is a lesson to be learned then ones quality of life raises or lowers depending on how well one knows themselves. Until one masters knowledge of self, they can not experience the exterior world and experience God.
