When Buddha gained enlightenment he choose to share his path with others. Inadvertently, Buddha created a negative karma wheel into motion. Due to the commodification and commercialization of “zen,” “mindfulness,” yoga and other “spiritual” items in the west and beyond, giving suffering new meaning. Buddha’s teachings are misinterpreted and misunderstood, due to this, Buddhism has become a part of the illusion which causes suffering. The idea that “enlightenment” can be attainted by paying to attend a meditation retreat, short 10 minutes of mindfulness directed by an app, labeling yourself as “enlightened,” attending a “zen center,” over promotion of the use of psychedelics as the “cure” for suffering or the only path to enlightenment. Essentially, anything exterior of ones body and mind that becomes a “must” or marketed as the “path” becomes part of the illusion, and eventually becomes a cause of struggle.
