There is not an “open” cause “open” only occurs if the result of the arising concluded with the closing of said object. In order for it to be closed, it needed to be open and in order for it to be open, it needed to be closed, but only if we are mindful of it being!
Picture an open field, no fences just an open field. Now picture that there is a square space within that field that has been fenced in, but no gate. The space is closed, but “open” and one can move in an out of that space. Without the space being fenced there can not be an “in” and there can not be an “out.” The act of moving in and out does not come into being. Now if one were to put a gate on the space and close the gate there would be a closed space, and the space can then be opened or closed. The gate being open is dependent on the fence being and without the fence being the gate does not come into being.
The fence being, means the space becomes “inside,” and because there is now an “inside,” the “outside” then arises. With out the inside coming into being the outside doesn’t arise. The inside becoming is dependent on the fence becoming. Which is all rooted back in the mind of the one who decides to construct the fence to begin with.
