The US is the most religious country there is and we are currently in the most religious time of history. Not in the sense that we have more people attending an actual church, but in the sense that we worship and idolize everything. Lady Gaga has her Lil Monsters, Beyoncé has her Beyhive, Kobe has his, Joe Rogan, Elon Musk, Jordan Peterson, The Patriots, The Eagles, technology, wealth and success. We lift these people and symbols to the highest elevations for their accomplishments within their chosen field and then take their word to be law in everything else. We confuse the greatness for dribbling a ball and performing on stage with the ability to understand and provide us with key insights about the complex problems we face in the word. We then take this confusion as fact and build our behaviors off what they say. We create an illusion of reality based on their hyper-reality performance. They convince us that people are at war with each other, yet when you unplug and look around people are just trying to live their lives and respect others right to live theres. A pseudo-culture war driving ratings and cash flow.
